You don’t often find a musician’s price on their website!  However, we’re happy to tell you.  The basic fees for our groups to play at your wedding ceremony, concert or party in the Adelaide Metropolitan area are:

1. First hour (or less) = $660

2. After that, $110 per half-hour, up to a maximum of 4 hours (including short breaks of roughly 10 minutes per hour)

3. There’s a surcharge of $110 for us to perform in two different formats (most commonly Adelaide String Duo and Two Hearts Duo) within one booking session

The fee is the same for our three ensembles, Two Hearts Duo, The Cello Guys and Adelaide String Duo

4. DJ Services before and/or after our live music performance can be provided for an additional $66 per half-hour. We have two excellent professional PA systems, depending on the number of guests. Brenton will MC your event for an additional $220 or alternatively we can set up a microphone through our  sound system for your own use for just $55. For a touch of flash we can provide and operate a small colour lighting rig for $165.

For DJ/MC Services alone (ie. when you are not also hiring one of our live entertainment packages) the basic price is $550 for the first three hours. Additional time and services are priced  as above.

Terms and conditions

Here’s the fine print

  • This price is for events taking place within the Adelaide (South Australia) metropolitan area, as defined by mapsofworld.com .  For functions in popular inner regional areas such as the Barossa Valley and southern Fleurieu Peninsula we charge a flat additional travel fee of $55.  Additional travel costs can be negotiated for more remote events.
  • We are happy to arrange and learn songs outside of our normal repertoire (see the website for each act for the current song list) at a cost of $220 for a standard pop song or similar. For more complex songs and long classical pieces we’ll provide a quote. We need at least 30 days notice to provide this service.
  • Due to the fragility and expense of our instruments we require suitable shelter from the elements (especially direct sun) when we are performing outdoors. We reserve the right to cancel a performance on the day if our requirements are not met. You can find a copy of our shelter policy here.
  • Once you’re happy with all the details we request a minimum non-refundable deposit of $220 to secure your date (deposit may be more in cases of long travel distance. Payment for arrangements of special requests will be added to the deposit).
  • The minimum musicians’ price covers our attendance at your event for up to one hour.  (This doesn’t include our set-up and pack-down time).
  • For events where there is “downtime” (eg. where we perform at both a wedding ceremony and the reception but there is some time betwen the two events) we charge a fee of $33 per half-hour downtime.
  • We will bring all instruments (including electric keyboard where required) and necessary sound equipment included in the price.  The Cello Guys can alternatively play acoustically if your venue has a suitable piano.  If you’d like us to bring our beautiful white “piano shell” for the illusion of a white Steinway baby grand at your event, please add $220.  Here’s a cool video of us setting up our piano shell at an Elton John tribute gig
  • Adelaide String Duo is generally unamplified unless otherwise specified
  • We have a network of high level professional string players (mostly Adelaide Symphony members) who we may use as substitutes for the Adelaide String Duo if one or both of the core players are unavailable.
  • If you’d also like to book music for your reception or even an appearance by Elton John we’ll tailor a price package.
  • For ceremonies taking place within the city centre or other congested areas, we may ask for suitable parking to be provided or paid for
